Monday, August 5th, the Sweetwater County Republicans sponsored a debate. Questions were not provided beforehand, so answers were spontaneous (one candidate was reading canned answers). All candidates for Senate District 14 were present. These kind of debates, sponsored by local parties, provide transparency. So called "Forums," when only one candidate is present, does not afford true transparency to the voters. I greatly appreciate the time and effort by Sweetwater Republicans.
